5 Math Games for Grade 5's
Maths doesn’t always need to be boring! We have found five games that can make learning Maths a lot more fun! The aim of this post is to help parents find fun ways in which their children can learn different Mathematics skills in a way that they also find fun. Maths can be fun.
1. Summer Math Pacman
The aim of this game is to help student practice addition, subtraction and multiplication. The game forces students think on their feet and to have fun while doing it. The student needs to direct the pacman to the correct answer. Every time they choose the correct answer they gain points. If they choose the wrong answer they lose a life. Check out the game here.
2. Koala Karts
This game similar to the first one, encourages fast thinking. The student plays against another online player. They race to get to the finish line before the other. Both player and student are given a Mathematics question to answer, whoever answers first moves towards the finish line. Check out the game here.
3. Math Baseball
This game helps improve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills. The player chooses the the level they would like to play in the game. Every Time the player answers the question correctly they score a run. Based on the difficulty of the problem they could score a single, double, triple or home run. If the player gets the answer wrong they strike out. If the player gets the answers wrong 3 times they are striked out. 4. Simon Sees
This game is great for assessing your child's concentration and attention to detail. The aim of the game is for the player to match the imagine that they see on the reflected mirror. If the student manages to get five matches they win the game. Check out the game here.
5. Bouncing Sums
The aim of this game is to help students with addition. A ball is with numbers and thrown around to the players. The ball is tossed to a player, the player then has to call out the number that his right thumb touches. He/she tosses the ball to the second player who adds his number to the first. The next players also add the their numbers to the previous total. The game continues up to a certain time. Check out the game here.
